Online Lessons

Online lessons are available to all students, within the UK and Europe. Learning online is convenient and accessible, offering all the benefits of personalised 1-2-1 coaching without leaving your home or office! Online learning has improved immensely in the last few years - and with the benefits of modern technology we can exchange music and recordings and discuss ideas just as though we were in the same room.

Lessons take place weekly for 30-minutes or fortnightly for an hour, at a time that is convenient to us both. All you need to learn this way is a reliable broadband connection and ideally both a smart phone as well as a tablet or laptop /desktop set up.

You will also need an instrument to learn with!

Home Visits

Home visits are available to those already taking online lessons, and provide an opportunity to experience music lessons in a more traditional manner.

These lessons are subject to distance and areas covered include south, central and west areas and nearby suburbs of Aberdeen. Please get in touch to find out if you are within the catchment.

Lessons are usually 45-minutes in length and are held regularly each month.

HOW DO I GET STARTED?

You will need a musical instrument for practise and lessons - I am happy to advise depending on your needs, your budget and whether you want to hire, or buy new or second-hand. There are plenty of options!

You will need access to a reliable broadband connection and ideally a smartphone as well as another device such as a tablet or laptop - more than one device makes your online learning a significantly better experience as there is greater interactivity possible within lessons.

Other accessories such as a music stand are highly recommended. There are also musical and technical resources online and via apps, many of which these days are available free of charge - this includes backing tracks, metronome and tuning apps. The ability to buy music books and downloads will give you greater possibilities and collectively add up to a more creative learning experience.

Setting time aside to practise is important for good learning outcomes within a sensible timeframe - this is the way to make the most of your investment.
